Say what you will, but the horror genre is not one that's concerned about playing it safe. Through the years, there have been a slew of horror films that have encroached upon new territory when it comes to both genre and content. Totally Killer is one of these films as the genre-bending slasher film dabbles in some time travel shenanigans.
Spearheaded by Always Be My Maybe director Nahnatchka Khan, Totally Killer revolves around a mother-daughter duo and the mysterious return of a mysterious serial killer dubbed the Sweet Sixteen Killer. Jamie, whose mother was also attacked by the Sweet Sixteen Killer back in 1987, is victimized by the nefarious serial killer. In her attempt to escape, Jamie finds herself thrust into a time machine and sent back to 1987. Knowing what she must do, Jamie sets out to stop the killer before he ever gets the chance to hurt anyone.

Kiernan Shipka as Jamie Hughes
Jamie is an average high schooler who's just trying to get by. This is easier said than done as Jamie's mom can be quite controlling, making it quite difficult for Jamie to live her life. Jamie's life gets turned upside down when a mysterious serial killer called the Sweet Sixteen Killer returns and murders her mother. Luckily, Jamie can change all of this by traveling back to the past and stopping the killer before they ever get the chance to kill anyone.
Kiernan Shipkahas been involved in a slew of different shows and movies throughout her career. She kicked off her career playing Sally Draper in Mad Men. Most of you likely recognize Shipka from her portrayal of Sabrina Spellman on Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Julie Bowen as Pam Hughes
After witnessing her friends get murdered by the Sweet Sixteen Killer, Pam Hughes is never really the same again. Now constantly fearing for her life, Pam isn't the type of person to take chances. This is also why she can be a rather overbearing mother to Jamie. However, all of this pays off when she's eventually attacked by another killer. Thanks to years of paranoia, Julie was able to temporarily hold off the Sweet Sixteen Killer. Unfortunately, the killer eventually bests her and murders her.
Julie Bowen is Julie's mother, Pam Hughes Bowen is known for playing another iconic mother in the hit comedy series Modern Family wherein she played Claire Dunphy for 11 seasons. Outside of her work on Modern Family, Bowen has worked on shows and movies like Happy Gilmore, ER, and Boston Legal.
Lochlyn Munro as Adult Blake Hughes
Former professional hockey player turned actor Lochlyn Munro plays the adult version of Blake Hughes. For the most part, Blake's character just oscillates between being sad about the tragic death of his wife and being worried about his daughter. He may be a little goody but his heart is in the right place.
Outside his work on Totally Killer, Munro has been involved in a multitude of different shows and movies. He's best known for his work on Riverdale, The Predator, and White Chicks.
Olivia Holt as Teen Pam Miller
Pam Miller is the most popular girl in school. She's also the leader of a clique called the Mollys, named after Molly Ringwald, composed of Tiffany, Heather, Marisa, and herself.
Olivia Holt plays the teenage version of Jamie's mother. Holt has dabbled in both acting and voice acting. She's worked on shows such as Runaways, Cloak & Dagger, Kickin' It, Trouble, and the teen thriller Cruel Summer.
Liana Liberato as Tiffany Clark
Tiffany Clark is the killer's first victim. Like Pam, Tiffany is one of the school's most popular girls. In fact, she's actually murdered on the night she's throwing a huge party at her house. Liana Liberato has been working as an actress since she was 9 years old. She's been in a number of films and shows including Scream VI, Based on a True Story, To the Bone, and If I Stay.
Anna Diaz as Heather Hernandez
Anna Diaz plays Heather Hernandez. She's the second victim of the Sweet Sixteen Killer and a member of the Mollys. Totally Killer is her first major role. Outside a handful of minor roles on shows and movies like Riverdale and Our Christmas Journey.
Stephi Chin-Salvo as Marisa Song
Stephi Chin-Salvo is Marisa Song. Marisa is the fourth member of the Molly's and the third victim of the Sweet Sixteen Killer. Aside from working on Totally Killer, Stephi Chin-Salvo has also worked on shows like iZombie, Overboard, and Upload.
Charlie Gilespie Teen Blake Hughes
It can be pretty impossible to see your parents as something other than your parents, but it's likely that Jamie will never have this problem after seeing both her parents as dumb teenagers. Unlike the adult version of the character, the teenage version of Blake has a lot of growing up to do before he becomes the caring and responsible father that Jamie knows and loves.
Charlie Gilespie is a young actor who's worked in both film and television. Aside from his role in Totally Killer, Gilespie is best known for his work on Julie and the Phantoms, The Outlaw League, and The Rest of Us.
Randall Park as Sheriff Dennis Lim
While the sheriff definitely means well, he just can't seem to comprehend why a serial killer would be roaming the streets of their quaint little town. Outside of this glaring weakness, Sheriff Dennis Lim seems to be well respected in the community as he has a good relationship with most of the residents of the town.
Randall Park is an actor and comedian who has worked on a number of successful projects over the years. He's best known for his work on Fresh Off the Boat where he played Louis Huang for over five years. This is his second time working with Nahnatchka Khan, as the two previously worked on Khan's debut film Always Be My Maybe.
Jonathan Potts as Chris Dubasage
Chris Dubasage is the host of a true crime podcast that revolves around the grisly Sweet Sixteen Killer murders. He even gives a tour for true crime enthusiasts wherein he takes them around town to the different spots where the victims were murdered.
Jonathan Potts has been acting for over four decades. He's been involved in a little over 100 TV and film productions, which is a testament to his acting chops. He's worked on productions such as Anon, When Hope Calls, and Ginny & Georgia where he plays the role of Mr. Gitten.
