The Autobots quickly become the Earth’s mightiest defenders in the Transformers movie franchise. Some thought that these aliens were actually a threat to humans rather than its protectors. Time and time again, the Autobots have proven that they are not here to destroy the planet, but help protect it from their enemies that would. The Decepticons are the original big bads from the Michael Bay movie series that have been able to disguise themselves from the Autobots.




The Autobots turn into different kinds of vehicles as they head into their next battle, and the choice of car can really transform their fighting styles. During all the fights, certain Autobots in the Transformers franchise stood out and had more of a storyline than some of the others. Some also had more of an impact during fight scenes while not actually have a plot line in the films. The strongest Autobots were often more tactical and strategic when approaching their disguise. 10 Crosshairs

Crosshairs reunited with Autobots along with Drift and were welcomed by Optimus Prime. He uses submachine guns and was first seen taking down two enemy aircrafts with what seemed like no effort in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Crosshairs chose a Corvette Stingray C7 for his alternate form and has a bright green color, which makes him easy to see on the battlefield. When he transforms into his robot form, Crosshairs has a mechanical cape that is more for looks than use during a fight. He has a pair of turbo guns with deadly accuracy that will get his enemy from any position.




9 Sentinel Prime

Sentinel Prime was the leader of the Autobots until he betrayed them, and the best match to go up against Optimus in battle. He's also considered one of the strongest Autobots until he switched sides to join the Decepticons in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Since he has Prime in his name, Sentinel possess great strength, speed, durability, and reflexes. TV Tropes explains that Sentinel was the one who mentored Optimus, teaching him that the Cybertronians were the superior race in the entire universe. Sentinel battles with this strong belief and his double-edged Primax Blade giving him an edge over Optimus.



8 Hound

Hound was first introduced in Transformers: Age of Extinction. He's a little bulky and chews on a huge bullet as if it was a cigar. No one should underestimate him based on his size as he's one expert gunslinger. Hound's tough hide makes him impervious to small bullets. In his alternative form, Hound chooses trucks like the Oshkosh Defense Medium Tactical Vehicle or the Medical 2016 Mercedes Benz Unimog. As his team's armaments supplier, Hound has one of the biggest arsenals with weapons like machine guns, large cannons, ion and quad guns, various barreled guns, and multiple pistols.



7 Hot Rod

Hot Rod is an Autobot with a French accent in Transformers: The Last Knight, and seemed a little goofy upon first introductions. He assisted soldiers on their assault on Cybertron and caused damage to the Decepticon Infernocus. Hot Rod carries a weapon that has the ability to slow down time which has come in handy for the Autobots. He can be seen as arrogant and doesn't stick to just one alternative form. Hot Rod spent time as a Lamborghini Centenario, a Citroen DS, and a Steyr-Daimler-Puch 2000 truck. He prefers to use shotgun blasters and WW2-routed machine guns to give out some heavy damage to his enemies.



6 Jazz

Jazz was one of the first Autobots Sam Witwicky ever sees in Transformers. He's the First Lieutenant of the Autobots and a brave fighter. Jazz is also considered Optimus' second in command and fought bravely against Megatron to keep the cube safe. Ultimately, Megatron killed him in battle. Jazz is a mobile Autobot who kills his enemies as quickly as possible. His alternate form is a Pontiac Solstice which is perfect for his quick fighting tactics. He uses a Crescent Cannon and Magnetic claw, so he can adjust to any threat despite their range.



5 Ratchet

Ratchet is the medical officer for the Autobots and fights against Megatron's followers. He has protected Sam and the other US soldiers with his skilled gunslinging and medical treatment. Gamespot says human paranoia cost him his life in the Cybertronian Lockdown since he refused to fight in Transformers: Age of Extinction. For his alternative form, Ratchet chose a Hummer Rescue Vehicle perfect for his specialization. He is equipped with missiles, Energon guns, machine guns, and the unique asset of a healing laser.




4 Drift

The fourth installment, The Last Knight, to the franchise brought Drift to light. He has proven his worth in many battles and prefers swords for his weapons as he has taken up life of the Samurai. Drift uses two swords and martial arts against his opponents which even Bumblebee has seen. Using a straightforward fighting styles, Drift uses functional and sleek alternative forms like the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, a Sikorsky S-97 Raider chopper, and a 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R. He appears as a samurai in his robot form only adding to his expertise in hand-to-hand combat and a skilled swordsman of his Katana.



3 Ironhide

Ironhide is Optimus' weapon specialist and a walking ammo store for his fellow Autobots. He's an expert with his cannons and knows how to make his presence known during a battle. Ironhide has fought many times alongside the humans until being killed by Sentinel Prime. He can be trigger-happy at times while choosing the GMC Topkick C4500 as his alternative form. Iron Hide prefers to have more weapons than necessary and has a massive armory at his disposal that includes energy cannons, rocket cannons, missile launchers, arm guns, shotguns, and replacements for any that he may lose along the way.



2 Bumblebee

Bumblebee is a vital member of the Autobots team and has taken down plenty of Decepticons on his own. He has fought Lockdown and even went up against Optimus when he went to the darkside. Bumblebee's fight against Optimus has cemented his name as one of the most powerful Autobots since not many have lived after fighting their fearless leader. He has had quite a few different alternative forms but tends to pick a Chevrolet Camaro as his go to. Bumblebee's arsenal is filled with a plasma cannon and machine guns that pair nicely with missile launchers and laser cannons which makes him better suited for surveillance. He also has a crab claw and battle hammer if he's in a pinch.



1 Optimus Prime

Being the leader of the Autobots, Optimus is the strongest among them and defeated Megatron multiple times as well as Sentinel Prime. Screen Rant describes Optimus as a key figure within the franchise since the beginning. Optimus obtained the Matrix of Leadership giving him a long range of abilities like superhuman physiology, flight, holographic projection, and at time clairvoyance. He is a skilled fighter trained by Sentinel and can use any weapon in any fight. Optimus most commonly uses an ion blaster, Energon swords, and an array of energy-based armaments. The Sword of Judgement allows Optimus to pierce even the toughest armors.
