10 Blast From the Past (1999) - 58%

Blast from the past (2)
New Line Cinema

The concept of the 1999 comedy Blast from the Past is certainly an interesting concept for a movie. A young man is raised his entire life within the confines of a bomb shelter under the belief that the entire world has been destroyed by nuclear war, only to realize one day that this is not the case. Outside the uniqueness of the idea, the film was panned for the inconsistent humor of the script and actors involved.

9 School Ties (1992) - 60%

School Ties features a young Brendan Fraser and Matt Damon in the very early stages of their career. The film focuses on Fraser's character of David Greene and his struggle with fitting in at a prestigious prep school out of fear of antisemitism from his classmates. While Fraser and his fellow actor's performances were praised, critics believed the film suffered from the heavy-handed nature of its message.

8 The Mummy (1999) - 60%

Next up is the criminally underrated 1999 adventure film The Mummy. Creating its own genre full of action, comedy, visually stunning vistas, and set pieces, it appeared as though Brendan Fraser was well on his way to becoming the next big action star. Where the movie fell flat for critics was in its simplicity and a critical lack of taking in and enjoying the film for the popcorn summer blockbuster it was intended to be, and the greatness attached to the film even today.

7 Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) - 61%

Journey to the Center of the Earth feels like an old 1950s adventure movie with modern-day effects, and that is where the broad appeal of this family-friendly adventure flick lies. Capitalizing on the 3-D movie trend of the mid-2000s, the movie would enjoy a decent box office return for what it was. Fraser's presence in the movie doesn't really make or break it, as it could have been filled by any acto,r and in fact, was by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the movie's 2012 sequel.

6 Still Breathing (1997) - 62%
