Movie trilogies that deserve more appreciation



Major franchises are now the norm in the movie world and have spawned many great series. Some of these series use the trilogy format. While some movies may not need an entire trilogy, there are others that use the format nicely and cohesively. Trilogies are a great way to develop a story across three films, or tie together three similar films thematically and conceptually. While there are many well-known trilogies such as the Lord of the Rings, there are also lesser-known watches worth. Here are some great movie trilogies that deserve more appreciation.










10 Red Curtain Trilogy (1992-2001)

Baz Luhrmann's Red Curtain Trilogy is a conceptual trilogy of films with similar themes. The movies are incl Strictly ballroom in 1992, Romeo + Juliet in 1996, and Moulin Rouge! in 2001. Luhrmann said each follows a particular style and contains a theatrical motif. Strictly ballroomabout two dancers participating in a competition, has dance as its motive. Like the Red Curtain Trilogy, the Irish Folklore Trilogy features films linked by similar location, themes and animation. It consists of 2009's Kelly's secret2014 The song of the seaand 2020 Wolfwalkers. Kelly's secret features Brendan, a young boy searching for the magical Book of Kells. Song of the sea tells the story of Ben, who resents his younger sister for blaming her for their mother's death. Finally, Wolfwalkers explores the friendship between a human girl and a werewolf girl. Each film adapts elements of Irish history and folklore and demonstrates their importance. It breathes new life into history, combined with beautiful hand-painted animations that resemble real art.



8 Mexico/Mariachi trilogy (1992-2003)

This trilogy starts with 1992's El Mariachi, about a traveling musician who is mistaken for an escaped killer and endangered. Made on a low budget of $7,000, it was so well received that an American studio picked it up for distribution. Mariachi's story of revenge after losing his loved ones continues with in despair in 1995 and Once upon a time in Mexico in 2003. The main character was first played by Carlos Gallardo, but this changed to Antonio Banderas for the last two films. Each movie features great performances that bring the characters to life, with action and a spirit reminiscent of classic westerns.



7 The Mighty Ducks Trilogy (1990-1996)

The mighty ducks revolves around Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), a lawyer who is caught driving under the influence and has to coach a youth hockey team as community service. The team is underfunded and always finishes last in the league, but with Bombay's help, the team grows closer and succeeds. the second movie, D2: The mighty ducks, sees the team compete in the Junior Goodwill Games, a tournament featuring teams from all over the world. It closes with D3: The mighty ducks, where players complete challenges to join a hockey prep school team. Considered by Collider as one of the best sports movies for kids, they are sure to make you feel good.



6 Cornetto trilogy with three flavors (2004-2013)

Kevin Smith's Jersey Trilogy is the debut of beloved characters Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith). This trilogy starts with 2006's Night at the museum, starring Ben Stiller as Larry, who becomes the night watchman at a history museum. During his shift, all of the museum's exhibits come to life and wreak havoc until he gains control and gains their trust. the second movie, Battle of the Smithsonian, takes Larry and the Exhibits to the Smithsonian, where they get into even more trouble. Finally, Secret of the Tomb sees the group in London, hoping to protect the tablet that brings the exhibits to life. The trilogy contains fun history and humor, and has many notable performances, including Robin Williams' Theodore Roosevelt.
