Timothée Chalamet is set to reprise his role as Paul Atriedies from Dune: Part One in the upcoming sequel. Paul is the former Duke of House Atreides who was banished from his aristocratic lineage by an evil emperor. Also known as "Maud'Dib" by the Fremen, Paul continues his quest to avenge his family's honor by teaming with Chani and sojourning across the expansive desert planet of Arrakis.

Aside from Dune: Part 2, Chalamet is poised to star as Willy Wonka in the upcoming musical adaptation, Wonka, which hits theaters on December 15, 2023. One of the most popular and talented actors of his generation, Chalamet's best work also includes the coming-of-age romance, Call Me By Your Name, the hauntingly intimate horror movie, Bones and All, and Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch.

9 Zendaya is Chani

Zendaya also reprises her role as Chani in Dune: Part Two. In Part One, Chani serves as a fierce warrior and member of the Fremen tribe who appears in Paul's subconscious as a hypnotic vision. In Part Two, Chani is expected to take on a larger role as Paul's love interest, allowing Zendaya and Chalamet to share more scenes together. Of course, Chani's loyalties to Paul and her past relationship with her Imperial mother Dr. Liet Kynes is sure to pay off with high dramatic stakes.

Another of the most famous young actors currently working in Hollywood, Zendaya shed her Disney Channel origins to star as the iconic Marvel character MJ in the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. A talented singer to boot, Zendaya's most notable roles also include playing Rue Bennett in HBO's hit teen drama, Euphoria, Marie in Sam Levinson's Malcolm & Marie, and young Anne Wheeler in The Greatest Showman.

8 Rebecca Ferguson is Lady Jessica

Another returning character, Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson will portray Lady Jessica once more in Dune: Part Two. Lady Jessica is Paul's biological mother and the legal concubine of Paul's father, Leto Atreides. Lady Jessica is also a member of the socioreligious fellowship known as the Bene Gesserit, which grants superhuman powers to its highest members.

In addition to co-starring with Zendaya in The Greatest Showman, Ferguson's Hollywood career has taken off in recent years. Her standout work includes playing Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Rose the Hat in Stephen King's Doctor Sleep adaptation, and Queen Elizabeth in The White Queen. After giving so many remarkable supporting turns, it's good to see Ferguson take center stage as the series lead in the Apple TV+ original Sci-Fi series, Silo.

7 Austin Butler is Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen

Austin Butler has been cast as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in the Sci-Fi sequel, a character that did not appear in Dune: Part One. Feyd is the youngest nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård, who will reprise his role in the sequel), who is poised to inherit his uncle's position of power. The House Harkonnen is one of the biggest adversaries to House Atreides, and Feyd will serve as Paul's primary foil in the film.

Fresh off his Academy Award-winning turn as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's must-see biopic, Elvis, Butler is an American actor who has dramatically increased his cinematic profile in the past few years. While Butler is known for his long-running TV characters in The Carrie Diaries and The Shannara Chronicles, his most famous movie roles include playing Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Jack in Jim Jarmusch's The Dead Don't Die.

6 Florence Pugh is Princess Irulan Corrino

English actress Florence Pugh portrays Princess Irulan Corrino in Dune: Part Two. Another new character added to the sequel, Princess Irulan narrates the Frank Herbert novel. Irulan is the eldest daughter of the 81st Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV and is described by Paul as his ticket to salvation due to her purity. While Irulan has been confirmed to appear in Dune: Part Two, fans will have to wait to see if her four sisters appear in the sequel.

Pugh is simply one of the most versatile actors of her generation and has quickly captured the hearts and minds of viewers everywhere. Whether playing Dani in Ari Aster's folk horror film Midsommar, Amy March in Greta Gerwig's Little Women, or Yelena Belova in Black Widow and Hawkeye, Pugh continues to dazzle audiences with her diverse and well-rounded performances. After Dune: Part Two, Pugh can be seen next in Marvel's Thunderbolts.

5 Christopher Walken is Shaddam IV

Christopher Walken plays the aforementioned Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV in Dune: Part Two. Shaddam IV is the father of Princess Irulan, the ruler of the House Corrino, and hailed as the leader of the Known Universe. The character did not appear in the first part of the Sci-Fi epic but is bound to figure prominently in the saga's continuation this coming winter. Of course, the more Christopher Walken onscreen, the better.

Indeed, Walken is a legendary movie star and a terrific character actor who famously won an Oscar for his powerful performance in Michael Cimino's Deer Hunter. Whether taking center stage in such movies as The Prophecy and The King of New York or lending support to such 90s crime classics as Tim Burton's Batman Returns and Tony Scott's True Romance, Walken has one of the most imposing screen personas in cinematic history.

4 Léa Seydoux is Lady Margo Fenring

French actress Léa Seydoux is set to play Lady Margo Fenring in Dune: Part Two. Along with Lady Jessica, Lady Margo is a member of the matriarchal sect known as the Bene Gesserit. As a result of ingesting the drug mélange and undergoing mental and physical training, Lady Margo has gained superhuman powers that include keen observation, sexual imprinting, and the ability to choose the sex of her child.

Seydoux is a sublime actor who is capable of playing indie arthouse and big blockbuster fare with equally credible results. Whether starring in Blue is the Warmest Color or No Time to Die, Seydoux always delivers knockout performances. A mainstay in Wes Anderson movies like The Grand Budapest Hotel and The French Dispatch, Seydoux rose to international prominence after her deeply romantic turn in Midnight in Paris.

3 Josh Brolin is Gurney Halleck

Josh Brolin returns as Gurney Halleck in Dune: Part Two. Gurney is the War Master of House Atreides who specializes in armaments. Gurney also becomes Paul's confidant and mentor after his father, Duke Leto Atreides, dies. As such, Gurney teaches Paul how to use various weapons to defeat those who brought House Atreides down on Arrakis. In Herbert's Children of Dune, it's inferred that Gurney and Lady Jessica become lovers, a storyline that may or may not materialize in the sequel.

The son of James Brolin, Josh began his career as a child actor who would go on to star as Brand in the all-time great '80s classic, The Goonies. Brolin also has experience working with Villeneuve in Sicario. However, Brolin is likely best known for playing Thanos in the MCU and Cable in Deadpool, although his performances in the Coens' No Country for Old Men and True Grit are hard to beat. Brolin also earned an Oscar nod for his work in Gus Van Sant's Milk.

2 Charlotte Rampling is Gaius Helen Mohiam

English actress Charlotte Rampling plays Gaius Helen Mohiam, another returning character from Part One. Also known as Reverend Mother, the wise high-ranking member of the Bene Gesserit functions as the Imperial Truthsayer and the spiritual guide to Lady Jessica. Gaius believes Paul is the key to Bene Gesserit's breeding system, but later conspires to defenestrate Paul after he joins the Fremen.

With over 130 credits since her career began in the mid-60s, Rampling is one of the most accomplished and well-respected actors of her generation. Whether stunning audiences in The Night Porter, breaking hearts in her Oscar-nominated performance in 45 Years, or going toe-to-toe with Paul Newman in The Verdict, Rampling has fashioned one of the most impressive filmographies on record.

1 Javier Bardem is Stilgar

The inimitable Javier Bardem portrays Stilgar in Dune: Part Two, reprising his role from the first part. Stilgar is the gallant leader of the Fremen in Arrakis (Sietch Tabr). Upon fleeing the Harkonnen invasion, Paul seeks refuge with the Fremen and is accepted as the messiah by Stilgar. As Paul leads the Fremen to success on the battlefield, Stilgar becomes his closest ally and supporter.

Bardem is a superior talent who notoriously portrayed Anton Chiguhr in No Country for Old Men, for which he won an Academy Award. Bardem's best work includes Alejandro Amenabar's The Sea Inside, Julian Schnabel's Before Night Falls, and Alejandro Inarritu's Biutiful. However, most viewers will recognize Bardem for playing villains in Skyfall and Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
