Natasha Liu Bordizzo: Best Movies Starring the Ahsoka Actress

Natasha Liu Bordizzo entered the Star Wars franchise, playing the first-ever live-action role of Sabine Wren, following the character's animated appearances in Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales. Rosario Dawson takes on the lead role of Ahsoka Tano in the Disney+ series, Ahsoka, but it seems like the former Jedi's limelight is stolen by the charismatic, rebellious, colorful, and artistic Mandalorian warrior, as Bordizzo's performance has already been lauded worldwide.

Armed with acting skills and a fondness for films, Bordizzo's talent came into recognition during her university days, when she landed her first film called Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. After the success of the 2016 film, she moved to Los Angeles and earned several roles in TV series and films.

Aside from her professional ventures, Bordizzo was a law student and has expertise in martial arts, especially in taekwondo and Kenpo Karate. Let's have a look back at all the past films of the very talented Ahsoka actress.

8 The Voyeurs (2021)

The Voyeurs
Amazon Studios

While some people might think that being nosy in someone else's business causes no harm, The Voyeurs sheds light on how it negatively affects one's relationships and distracts one from focusing on their own lives. The film is about Pippa (Sydney Sweeney) and Thomas (Justice Smith), a happy couple who moves into a new apartment and, through their windows, peek into the seemingly more interesting lives of their neighbor couple (Ben Hardy and Bordizzo).

What started as general intrigue soon turns into an unhealthy fixation, where they become more interested in others' lives and their own relationship struggles to stand on its own two feet. Additionally, they also make use of binoculars to observe their neighbors' activities and use devices to listen to their conversations. From watching them through windows to meeting the neighbors in real life, the couple's perspective changes, and soon it becomes a matter of life and death.

7 Guns Akimbo (2019)

Guns Akimbo
Madman Entertainment

From leaving behind magical wands to holding weapons in Guns Akimbo, Daniel Radcliffe has come a long way and takes on the lead role of a game developer, Miles Lee, alongside the best-in-game killer, Nix (Samara Weaving). A criminal organization that goes by the name Skizm gains immense popularity by streaming death fights online. However, this activity of the organization doesn't sit well with Miles; he trolls and insults them in their forum, which obviously doesn't end well when his comments come to the notice of the fight club's kingpin, who sends his men to drag him to the dystopian world.

When Miles wakes up, his hands are holding bloody guns, and he is forcefully put against the formidable Nix. Between fighting Nix, knowing about her background in the process, and finding ways to come out of the mess alive, the game becomes personal when his beloved girlfriend Nova Alexander (Bordizzo) also gets involved.

Netflix

With Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, Kung Fu Hustle director Woo-ping Yuen brings to life the story of a popular warrior named Shu Lien, who comes out of retirement to reclaim the sword, known as the Green Destiny, of her dead lover, Li Mu Bai. Even though she reaches her destination, Peking, she comes across various obstacles and the dangerous warlord Hades Diu, whose sights also lie on getting the legendary sword in order to rule the martial arts world. But Shu Lien doesn't have to fight alone, as a few warriors like Snow Vase (Bordizzo) and Silent Wolf (Donnie Yen) join her journey to safeguard the weapon. They both are good and skilled warriors who have a connection with Shu Lien.

While we get to witness the mentor-student relationship between Shu-Lien and Snow Vase, the Silent Wolf has an old love history with both of them. According to the Ahsoka actress, she wasn't that familiar with the original Crouching Tigger, Hidden Drago, as she was young when it came out and saw it in bits and pieces when her mom and dad used to watch. However, she later watched it to prepare for her role, and it allowed her to reconnect with her Chinese roots (via Collider).

wishdragon-netflix
Netflix

Wish Dragon is a fantasy-comedy tale about Din Song (Jimmy Wong), who wants to rekindle his friendship with his childhood mate Li Na Wang (Bordizzo), who left the neighborhood many years ago and now lives a luxurious life. He comes across a man who hands him a teapot, out of which a wish-granting dragon arises that can fulfill any three wishes of his master. The Dragon will be liberated from servitude after the three wishes of Din, as he is his final master.

According to director Chris Appelhans, he had the option to make the movie in an American studio, which would have been easy, but he preferred a Chinese VFX company due to the young Millennial minds who related to the story and were ready to point out things that were going in the wrong direction. That's when he decided he wanted to make the movie with these people. But despite where the movie is made, it's still a blend of Chinese and western, most probably western because of the way characters lead their lives (via CBR).

2 Hotel Mumbai (2018)

Hotel Mumbai
Zee Studios

The 26/11's traumatic attack on Mumbai is, to date, imprinted like a nightmare in every Indians' mind, as several innocents lost their lives and the city was completely shaken.
