Blue Beetle is the latest cinematic endeavor by DC, gathering a cast of talented young actors to introduce a new iconic hero. The film revolves around Jaime Reyes, a college grad in search of his place in the world. His whole life is turned upside down when an ancient alien biotechnological relic chooses Jaime as its host, turning the boy into a powerful superhero whether he likes it or not.
Blue Beetle is set to be an action-packed story on the surface and an emotional coming-of-age tale in its innermost layers. The unpredictable superhero was created in 1939 by Charles Wojtkowski, quickly becoming a fan-favorite in the comics world. The alien technology that fuels its suit offers plenty of extraordinary powers that, for the first time, are coming to the big screen. Blue Bee director Ángel Manuel Soto likes to call Jaime's transformation in the film something close to "Cronenberg" for kids.
